Governance
The governors of Canon Sharples C of E Primary School and Nursery believe it is important that the governing board reflects the diversity of our school community. Diverse boards promote inclusive school environments and provide diverse role models for our children and young people.
Our governors play an important and active part in the life of our school. Collectively they are responsible for the running of the school and ensuring it continues to develop to meet the very highest standards, providing a first class education for all our children.
As a Governing Board we operate to 3 key principles:
1. Strategic vision, leadership, ethos and values - Work with the school, children, parents and local community to identify a strategic plan.
2. Holding the Headteacher to account and performance management - Provide challenge and support in equal measure to the school and the leadership team.
3. Ensuring financial value - Overseeing the performance of the school, ensuring money is well spent and improving outcomes for the children.
